TBLS PA May 19 General Meeting and PA Elections

As always, Headmaster Katrina Billy-Wilkinson will provide an update for all parents and guardians. Hear directly from her the latest regarding the school, and summer events, and fall school reopening plans.
Here are the agenda for Wednesday's meeting, the minutes from the April PA general meeting, which will be presented for approval on Wednesday, and the treasurer's report.
Please register in advance for the PA meeting here to allow the school time to verify your eligibility to vote as a parent or guardian. Registration is REQUIRED for this meeting due to DOE election requirements for parent associations.
PA Elections
Please consider running for a 2021-22 leadership position on the TBLS Parent Association or for a parent representative role on the School Leadership Team (SLT). Elections will be held at the May TBLS PA general meeting on Wednesday, May 19th, 6-7:30pm.
Elections will be held for the following positions. Each position may be shared by two people:
· President (or Co-Presidents)
· First Vice President (or Co-First Vice Presidents)
· Treasurer (or Co-Treasurers)
· Recording Secretary (or Co-Recording Secretaries)
· Corresponding Secretary (or Co-Corresponding Secretaries)
In addition, we will be electing two parent/guardian members for the School Leadership Team.
All parents and guardians are invited to participate, and no experience is necessary. If you would like more information or would like to nominate yourself or someone you know, please contact cecilia.leong@aol.com. Please indicate the office in which you are interested, and whether you are interested in serving alone, or with a co-officer, or either. Don't worry if you don't know any other interested parents: the Nominating Committee can even help match you up with someone interested in running together for a shared position.

Fall School Reopening
Today is your last chance to complete the TBLS PA's second survey regarding the school's reopening plan to ensure that our committee can share your views at the next school roundtable. This month's roundtable's topic is "Knowing Discipuli Well and Supporting Their Needs".

New Parent/Guardian Family Healing Ambassador
The DOE's Office of Family and Community Engagement (FACE) has announced a Family and Community Wellness Collective, a new initiative that seeks to empower PA/PTA designees and parent leaders from the 33 communities most impacted by COVID-19 with knowledge and resources around trauma informed care and healing practices. The TBLS PA has been invited to choose a parent leader to serve as the TBLS Family Healing Ambassador.
The Family Healing Ambassador must have a child in TBLS in the 2021-22 school year and must be able to attend each of the scheduled program dates this summer. If you are interested in serving as the TBLS PA Family Healing Ambassador, please email copresidents@brooklynlatinpa.org to let us know of your interest. The TBLS PA will select a parent/guardian Family Healing Ambassador at the May 19 general meeting. Please see the program flyer here in English, Spanish and Chinese.
